Gamerisms

The gaming community is considered primarily composed of men, so everything that is considered consensus in the gaming community is supposedly shared by all men. So, gaming itself is seen as something from the perspective of guys, which makes them just “gamers.” To complain about “guy gamers” can be seen as complaining about gamers as a whole because of the perception that the vast majority of gamers are men, even though men are only a slight majority of all people who call themselves “gamers.”

It’s easier to divide “gamers” and “girl gamers” because women are seen as interlopers in the gaming community since games are far more often marketed towards and made for men, and a lot of male gamers cannot comprehend women and girls enjoying games for the exact same reasons that they might. I think it’s pretty messed up.
