I just stumbled upon this blog and I love it. Recent issues discussed also reminded me of the midnight launch for Arkham City - I was pretty much the only female in the queue. As it happens, the midnight passers-by asked us why are we queing, and quite a few women doing so then left almost shaking their heads and discussing us. It then led to one of the guys asking me whether I'm buying the game "for a friend" or myself. ://

It’s always so crappy to have people assume that since you’re a lady, you must be buying a game for your boyfriend or brother or something. The judgement being passed is equally crappy, as if you’re less of a person for liking games or comics… I have definitely been in situations like that before. Luckily, I feel like that experience is becoming less common lately, and it’s mostly middle-aged people or teenaged boys who have the “women don’t game” mindset.
