Ugh, ok, so sometimes I'll post articles I've read, a few of them being about male privilege and especially ones about (white) male privilege in the nerd 'verse. However, there's this guy I'm friends with on facebook who just won't acknowledge his male privilege- once again, especially in the nerd 'verse. He keeps arguing about it, or saying things like 'that's no reason to get upset, shit like that happens', whatever. What do I do? Great blog, btw :)

Have you shown him the Nerds and Male Privilege link we posted a while back? If so, I’m not really sure what else to tell you. That’s about as clear of a picture as one can get of male privilege, especially among the nerd ‘verse.
ETA: Ok, I’ve realized there’s more. You might try asking him “If there’s no reason to get upset, why do articles like this keep getting written? Why is this one of the most talked-about things whenever a new game comes out?” If he’s really your friend, I hope he’ll start understanding.
You could also friend one of the Gamerisms editors if you want backup (like you don’t know this guy very well or whatever). I know I personally (thetaylordetroye) would always be willing to jump in.
