I am a man who likes to play as women in RPG's. It was a choice I made starting with Mass Effect 1 because I felt it hard to connect with a bulky, monotone space marine compared to the more slim men of Knights of the Old Republic series) I am usually teased lightly be my friends about it. Usually in comments of YouTube videos of people playing as women, the comments are usually that you're either gay or that you'd rather look at a female waist while playing.

I really hate that, too, as if choosing to play as a female character somehow makes you “less manly” and therefore is less desired. Or that you’re just doing it to look at a woman’s body, as if men are incapable of thinking about anything other than sex! It’s insulting.
I think playing as a woman in an RPG is awesome (although I’m a bit biased because I’m a woman). It means you get to see the ladies doing all the incredible things that the men would stereotypically only get to do. I love that. And besides, I think femShep has a better voice actor ;)
